NARS Limited Edition Blush- ORGASM

If someone ask me what are my 3 beauty essentials that I can never live without, my answer always its 1) Mascara 2) Blush on 3) Lipstick. All these essentials and  I can survive a day outside with friends and family. In this post I will be reviewing my newest addition in blush family that is one of its kind. Please keep on reading to know my reviews and experience with NARS ORGASM Blush.

I had been skeptical about NARS ORGASM for the past 3 years? YES you heard that right!!!. The price tag always made me wonder if it is a worth purchasing or not. But the moment I saw it in a Brand new Limited Edition packaging I broke through and with fingers crossed, went for it.

As on their site:

More Blush-More Rush!

Introducing Nars Biggest Orgasm yet- an Out sized Limited Edition compact so irresistible. Its enough to make you blush.  Same iconic, universally flattering shade. New insatiable experience.
 • Nars special edition orgasm blush 3.04oz
 • Nars original orgasm blush 1.92oz

On the sephora website:

What it is: A soft, sheer, pressed powder Blush.

What it does: NARS blush offers a translucent, natural shades, each with a subtle pink for a natural looking blush undertone to highlight the complexion. Designed to be worn alone or layer together for more depth, it provides a healthy glow that flatters any skin tone.

What else you need to know: Orgasm blush gives cheeks a perfect pinky-peach flush and subtly highlights with accents of golden shimmer. The perennially pleasing, universally flattering shade is a repeatedly a makeup artist and beauty editor favourite.

MY EXPERIENCE:

The special edition blush comes in a same rubberized NARS compact. But it has NARS ORGASM imprinted on it which basically is the feature of this limited edition.

Back

Inside the mirror has the Hashtag #WhatmakesyouBlush imprinted on it. Actual blush is covered by a removable plastic film, which mimics the outer box features a beautiful young lady.

Now on the blush itself, On the Nars and Sephora website it is described as "peachy pink blush with golden shimmer" and I strongly agree with that. It is a warm peachy pink with loads of golden sheen running through it. Shimmer is very finely milled that it doesn't bothers me at all, in fact I kinda like it, as it subtly highlights the cheekbones at the same time.

Orgasm is their best seller due the fact that it suits a wide variety of skin tones. To be honest I don't have anything similar to this in my collection before. Lets talk about pigmentation, it is very pigmented and glides smoothly on cheeks too although it doesn't have creamy texture and requires few swipes to put product on brush. But if you want to build it more, the only thing that seems to get stronger is the golden sheen, which is a little annoying for me that all I wanted was to have naturally flushed cheeks. But the plus point is there is no fallout, Absolutely NOT!! And on my combination skin it last for well about 6-8 hours which is very decent. I am wearing it constantly the day I got it and loving every time I apply it.

Overall I think it is pricey but the shade it self is beautiful.

Price, Availability, Quantity:
I bought mine from Shopaholic for $39. And you get 3.04oz which is almost double the quantity of a regular NARS blush and you pay $9 more.

Pros:
 • Comes with a huge mirror.
 • Zero fallout.
 • Universally flattering shade.
 • Highlights the cheekbones as well.

Cons:
 • Hefty price tag.
 • Not easily available.
 • Visible shimmer can bother someone.
 • Compacts get messy easily due to the texture of the outer material.
 • Not practical for travelling.

Please do share in comments about your favourite blushes and wish list :)

With Love,
Sana.

THE BALM MARY-LOU MANIZER. Swatches and Review

Hello Ladies sorry for being MIA from blog from last couple a month.

I hope Ramadan is treating you all well too.We are living in the world of highlighters, I mean SERIOUSLY look around and you will see every brand, drug store or expensive is launching their innovative highlighters in different forms and shades. The one brand that is been IN in this current chaos from the very start is THE BALM. Yep we all have heard of it, drooled over it and have many of its products in our wishlist. Today I will be reviewing the most talked about highlighter from its series of "THE MANIZER SISTERS" highlighters i.e The Mary Lou Manizer aka The Luminizer.

.

As on their website:

"Meet Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow."

INGREDIENTS/NET WEIGHT: Net Weight: 8.5G/0.3OZ.

INGREDIENTS:MICA, ISOEICOSANE, POLYETHYLENE, BORON NITRIDE, POLYISOBUTENE, PTFE, SILICA, SYNTHETIC WAX, DIMETHICONE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDE (CI 77491).

Pacakaging:

It comes in a beautiful card board packaging which has a pretty lady imprinted on with golden hued hair, which also depicts the shade of the highlighter itself. It appears like they are taking a criminal's mug shot as the little board the lady is handling says charge with being too pretty, too popular. Well I do like this creativity, I wont lie. Inside the highlighter is in a metallic round container with a tight lid that closes with a click and a mirror. It contains 8.5gm of product, which is quite much as compared to what other brands are offering in this price.

My views:

I have been using this highlighter from last year and I love it every time I use it. The shade can be described as soft champagne. Its consistency is really finely milled, soft and glides very smoothly on skin too. One of the thing I love the most is it doesn't heighten pores and gives almost air brush finish. Pigmentation is super intense, one swipe is enough to give to goddess like glow, or if you like extra glow (I know Sana does), you can definitely apply more and I am telling you it still would not look too bright or too out of the place if blended properly. I heard some girls saying it looks patchy but I haven't observed anything like this and I believe if you apply it properly, you will be pleased to see the results. It stays 6-8 hours on me during day, thought I really love to apply it on night functions due to radiant glow it gives me. I also enjoy applying it in inner corners of my eyes, cupid bow and brow bone. The packaging is travel friendly and you can toss it in bag without any fear of opening. I will certainly recommend it to everyone as it really compliments Asian skin tones.
Pros:
  • Universal shade which really compliments skin tones.
  • Easily available through Facebook pages.
  • Large pan and travel friendly.
  • Minimum to zero fall out.
  • Intense pigmentation.

Cons:
  • Not locally available.
  • A little pricey.

Availability and price: It is available on almost every makeup selling Facebook page now. Its retail price is $24, as on their site
Rating: 4.5/5
With Love, Maria.

Kat Von D - Lolita Lip Duo ( Review and Swatches)

Front
The most interesting beauty item that caught our eye the most in 2015 was the LIQUID LIPSTICK. The idea of having a matte lipstick in gloss like packaging, makes you WHAT??? NO WAY!!! HOLY MOLY!!!! Yes, the sweet roller coaster of emotions as you get the perfectly comfortable and beautifully packed lipstick in liquid form.
It was such a sought after product that almost every brand has launched a fine exquisite of their own range in liquid lipsticks. From LimeCrime to Stila to Colorpop to KYLIE's range, the market is flooded with the sublime ranges. But having so many options means you have to opt for whats best for you and your pocket. I have tried a few brands (which I will be reviewing very soon too) but haven't spotted my best friend for life. Scroll down to know my thoughts on this lip duo by Kat Von D.

About the Product:

Kat Von D Beauty is basically known for, as it says on their website
We are bold, unapologetic, outspoken and different in our own way. We are artists, poets and lovers. We are the outsiders and the insiders.

100% Cruelty Free Forever

Their bold, fun, loud and wide range of products makes you crave for getting your hands on it. And when we talk about their liquid lipsticks, they are one of the kind. The product claim to be, as on their site
THE life-proof lipstick that will not wear off! Yes, you can eat, drink, make up, break up and mouth-off knowing your lips are gonna stay flawless through it all!
In 28 to-die-for shades, this creamy formula glides over lips like a gloss and sets to a true matte finish. Along with 24-hour wear and high-pigment color, the next-generation formula is packed with natural moisturizers, including Vitamin E and Sunflower Seed Wax. All-day wear has never felt so comfortable!
Live happily Everlasting!
#VeganAlert!
In this post I will be reviewing Kat Von D's limited addition Lolita Lip Duo which contains minis of her Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Lolita and Lolita II. These are 0.10 tubes (full-size tubes are 0.22 oz. for $22). It was part of 2015's holiday limited edition.

Packaging:

It comes in a matte black box with two liquid lipsticks inside packed in black matte paper. The back of box has lip swatches of both shades, with the description of the shade's tones
*2 MINI EVERLASTING LIQUID LIPSTICKS IN LOLITA, A CHESTNUT ROSE, AND LOLITA II, A TERRA COTTA NUDE.*
LONG WEAR. FULL COVERAGE. VELVET MATTE FINISH
Back

On one side of the package there is an other statement which says
ON THEIR OWN, THEY'RE ICONIC, TOGETHER THEY'RE INVINCIBLE.
DISCOVER THE SHADE THAT REDEFINED THE CLASSIC NEUTRAL LIP. THIS DUO OF COVETABLE FAVORITES FEATURES TWO TAKES ON CULT FAVORITE LOLITA; THE ORIGINAL CHESTNUT ROSE, AND LOLITA II, HER BRIGHTER ALTER EGO.
Side view
The Liquid lipsticks comes in a very slim gloss-like tube. Also, the Gothic floral details are beautiful. Its a very unique packaging since other liquid lipsticks usually don't have designs on their packaging. They have very mild scent which you can only feel if you stick your nose near the tube opening, which is always a plus for me because I am not much of a fan of strong scented products, specially lippies. The texture is creamy, mouse like which spreads easily on your lips without patching.

Left Lolita--- Right Lolita II

Left Lolita--- Right Lolita II

Lolita II

Lolita

My Thoughts

Both the shades are equally beautiful and totally compliment Asian skin tones. What makes this duo worth buying is Lolita II which is the recent addition to the Lolita set with more beautiful tones. Both the shades are flawlessly universal but I personally prefer Lolita II over Lolita. As the it is more nude than brown. Now coming towards the formula, it is the most comfortable one i have ever tried (Trust me). it doesn't made my lips tight or too dry. The color of  these liquid lipsticks look same on my lips too, as on the tube unlike other brands liquid lipsticks I have used. Both LL are quite pigmented and one swipe of product was enough to get the required shade. Finish is truly matte as it also appears in the swatches and once it is set, its doesn't move for well about 6 hours with little snacking and drinking, as claimed on their site. But make sure you exfoliate your lips before applying any liquid lipstick as they tend to cling in your dry patches. I don't really feel the need to line my lips before applying these, as the shades are nude and don't bleed. To remove this I use my Olay makeup remover and I was surprised to see that it came off pretty easily. So far hands down this formula is the best. Will definitely buy some more shades as it is worth every penny.

Pros:

  • Super Matte
  • Mild Fragrance
  • Long wearing
  • Highly pigmented in one swipe
  • Transfer proof
  • Universal shades

Cons:

  • Takes some time to dry up completely.
  • Not easily available locally.
  • Color may get uneven on second coat.

Price, Availability and Quantity:
This set retails for $20 and contains 2x 0.10 oz liquid lipstick in Lolita and Lolita II. And it is sold out at Sephora but some Facebook pages still have this duo instock.
